Department of General Surgery is headed by Dr. C. P. Joshi Professor and comprises of Male Surgical, Female Surgical & Post Operative wards which are located at third f1oor. There are three working Surgical Units each headed by a professor/associate professor and comprises of four Assistant Professors each. The beds are shared by both Units.
Working arrangement has been scheduled in such a way that one unit has OPD (Out Patient) and other has OT (Operation Theater). All surgical emergencies are attended by the unit which has outpatient & Their Assistant professors are posted in Accident & Emergency department after OPD hours & operate if the need be.
Critical Patients are admitted in Surgical Intensive Care Unit which is under intensivist resident medical officer is posted in each ward and they are responsible for history taking & earring out treatment orders. Department of Surgery conducts all General Surgical procedure open as well as Laparoscopy & emergency.
